At the Royal Colwood Golf Course in Victoria, Canada, members were privileged to attend the first screening of Altered Course, thanks to member Eileen Kelly, one of the participants. This is a new version of extreme golf created by the Golf Channel.
Months ago when the program was announced, over 10,000 applicants were received by the Golf Channel. These applicants were reduced to 16 golfers – 8 teams of 2 golfers each. Three teams are female and 5 are male, hailing from various parts of the world.
Altered Course is similar to Speed Golf (see previous blog) with specific and varied golf skills changed from week to week. The program was filmed in Montego Bay, Jamaica where two regulation golf courses were altered with different challenges for each session.
Eileen Kelly and Kyla Inaba have given themselves the moniker Canadian Ninjas, and were delighted to have been selected. They have spent countless hours in the gym, on running tracks, and on the golf course increasing their skill and fitness levels in order to compete.
Tune in! – Monday nights on the Golf Channel – you may be out of breath just sitting on your couch!
